so my birthday was friday!

and I was out of town so I couldn't post this on time, so yeah, I am now 17!

and the only thing that is different, I can see R movies without my parentals...

so, nothing great. yet.

lol. There aren't that many R movies I know since there's not very many ads. Aren't most of them pornographic?

not really.

most are rated R because of the following reasons:

Sexual Content (not exactly pornographic, BUT includes sex scenes, inuendos, etc.)
Violence
and
Language

they are getting worse though.

I actually prefer PG-13 movies over R movies anyway.

Yeah, me too ^^ I generally prefer PG over MA and probally R too (though I can't say its much of a preference with R yet)

If that stuff wasn't included there would be no need for ratings, though right? ..which would be good but then I suppose some plots just require a little or more explicitness/coarse language to make them "real".

I don't know, I think the ratings are a good idea, just because you can distinguish between kid movies and adult movies.

but I think the "sexual content" isn't really necessary

you can only get into R movies if you have an adult with you (legally) Some theaters don't seem to care...I think that is bad, they need to be more concious.
